Vote HELL NO on I-645

Anyone’s checking account thriving? Do you find yourself gazing in awe at the gas pump as it kisses $100?

If you’re like the folks we’ve talked to literally ever, you’re doing all you can to scrape by. Just as big corporations and billionaires get richer. But at least we can rest knowing that on top of high everyday costs, we also pay more in taxes than they do (to the order of 3X). Fun system, no notes.

Actually, we have a few notes. And they all say, in increasingly urgent, bold writing: uh, pleeeaassee VOTE HELL NO ON I-645.

We won something good last year, and a few annoying people don’t like that

We won money to make things more affordable for working families—like eliminating sales tax on diapers and over-the-counter medicines, providing meals for school kids, and lowering healthcare costs—and that money will come from the Millionaires Tax. This tax applies to the less than 1% who are paid more than a million dollars a year and will fund some really important shit.

Like healthcare. And education. To the order of $13 billion, which is the projected revenue the Millionaires Tax would bring in over its first four years.

Don’t know how to visualize that much money? Ask Elon.

Anyways, predictably, the greedy few have caught a whiff of something good for the rest of us, and they’d like to stop it. They are throwing a lot of money to try to trick working families into voting yes to repeal the Millionaires Tax through I-645. (Yes, you read that right. A yes vote is bad for working people because it would repeal the important Millionaires Tax. A no vote is what we need. Yes, they made it confusing on purpose, but no, we’re not falling for it. We’re voting NO.)

Luckily, we also smell something, and it’s billionaire bull****. Pro tip: When in doubt, choose the side that doesn’t look like a tiny mob of corporations and the ultra-wealthy.

So, what do you say we vote NO on I-645?

By voting NO, we protect the money for education and childcare, and we keep lower taxes for local small businesses. Plus, we get to tell those rich guys to shove it.

Can we count on you?
