I work full-time as a product tester, and I don’t have any paid family leave at all.
My wife has been having health issues lately and almost lost her job because she can't do what she normally could. Luckily, she still is able to work some. To afford rent, both of us work full time. If one of us got really sick and couldn't work, we'd be in trouble.
Even with health insurance, all the doctor visits add up, and if we weren't both able to work, I don't know what we would do. It's hard enough as it is.
My wife literally can't afford to take time to get better. She may have healed by now if she didn't have to keep working while this has been going on. Family leave would be such a benefit and would help everyone get back on their feet (and in turn the economy) sooner when something serious happens.
Paid family leave is important for you and everyone around you.
