I work full time as an Assembly Mechanic, and I don’t have any paid family leave at all.
My wife's disability because of Multiple Sclerosis is a daily struggle. Any time I take time off to care for my wife is unpaid leave. I also can use up all my vacation and sick leave for these appointments. The unpaid FMLA allows me not to lose my job, but it sure would be nice to have paid FMLA.
