If you listened to the scare stories from big business lobbyists here in Washington, you'd hear them threatening that if we vote to pass Initiative 1433 to raise the minimum wage, businesses will make a run for the border, flee to Idaho, and profit from paying a $7.25 poverty wage there. (No, it never happens and no that's not how the economy works... but they say it anyway.)
So it's pretty amusing to see the scare stories from big business lobbyists from Idaho. Here's their latest Chicken-Little tale: they told the Spokesman-Review that they're worried about what will happen if Washington voters pass Initiative 1433 to raise the minimum wage — because they're going to have raise wages in Idaho too in order to keep up and hire people.
Yup, that's pretty much the exact opposite of the Washington-side scare story about an Escape to Idaho. At least they're getting creative with their sky-is-falling stories?
(And raising wages across the state border is supposed to be bad news for who again?)
