WEDNESDAY: Rally at Rep. Newhouse’s Yakima office for immigrant rights & affordable healthcare

After Rep. Newhouse refuses to hold town hall despite Trump Administration attacks on immigrant rights and affordable healthcare…

Community members to gather at Newhouse office in Yakima Wednesday at 12 noon

Rep. Dan Newhouse has refused to schedule a single town hall meeting or other public event during this week’s Congressional recess. So community members are bringing our voices to him with a march and rally calling on our representative to hear our voice on immigrant rights, affordable healthcare, and worker issues.

Who: Immigrant workers, healthcare supporters, concerned community members, and other local constituents with Working Washington and other community groups.

What: Gather at Performance Park, then march to Rep. Newhouse’s district office, calling on him to hear our voice on immigrant rights, affordable healthcare, and other issues

When: Wednesday, February 22, 2017, 12pm

Where: Gather at Performance Park: 100 Pendleton Way, Yakima
March to Rep. Newhouse District Office: 402 E. Yakima Ave, Yakima

More information

Prompted by the failure of any of Washington State’s Republican members of Congress to schedule a town hall during the current recess, this event is one of a series happening across the state this week in Spokane, Vancouver, and Issaquah, as well as Yakima. The events as a whole are led by a coalition of community, labor, and faith groups known as Hear Our Voice.

The Trump Administration has shown its priorities on immigrant rights and affordable health care. Now members of Congress owe their constituents an explanation of where they stand.
